A Bronx native, Luane has been baking since she was 9 years old, living on her family’s farm in Wisconsin. Baking cookies is her life’s passion. She loves experimenting with new flavors and ingredients.
Luane obtained her culinary training at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. She also holds a BA in sociology and political science from Valparaiso University and pursued a PhD at SUNY Albany, in Criminal Justice. In addition to being a gourmet baker and freelance recipe developer, she works at a NYC advertising agency as a business strategist.
Her first book, Gluten-Free Cookies, was published in March 2011 by Seller’s Publishing. Her second book, Sassy Cookies, was published in August 2013 by Pelican Publishing. She contributes as a guest writer on various blogs and publications, and she has a 5-star recipe on the New York Times website.
